Merit Scholarships at IUBAT
IUBAT offers a range of merit scholarships for students at the point of admission, during study, and for special categories, ensuring wider participation and gender parity. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance in SSC, HSC, A Levels, diploma, and degree examinations.

Master's Level Merit Scholarships
Rates are based on previous academic achievements from Masters, Honors, or Pass degrees:

In-Program & During Study Merit Scholarships
- Students who are not entitled to merit scholarship at admission can earn 50% tuition waiver by securing CGPA 4.00 in every semester.
- Merit Scholarships are awarded to students who secure CGPA 4.00 in three consecutive semesters, along with a certificate and Tk. 5,000 cash prize.
Gender Parity Scholarship
Female students are entitled to 15% additional tuition scholarship. Special scholarships for needy and meritorious female students include the Abdus Salam Full-board Scholarship and Jolly Hamid Scholarship.
Special Scholarships
- IUBAT Green Leaf Scholarship: Children of tea garden workers can avail the SaadKamelia Scholarship (SKS) under the Green Leaf Fund.
- Culture and Sports Scholarships: For recognized sports persons and artists.
- 39 funded scholarships are available on a merit-cum-need basis every semester.
The scholarship programs have enabled wide participation of students from across Bangladesh, with 537 out of 550 Upazilas/Thanas represented in the IUBAT community. The aim is to achieve 100% coverage and expand to Union/Ward and village/moholla levels, promoting human resource development and social transformation through job placement and entrepreneurship.
